Under martial law in Ukraine, the NBU abolished the requirement for citizens to provide supporting documents to banks (namely, to withdraw cash from their own accounts and purchase bank metals) when moving foreign currency outside of Ukraine.

Previously, individuals had to provide the relevant documents while moving currency and bank metals valued at over 10 thousand euros.

At the same time, the requirement to declare currency valuables valued at over EUR 10 000 remains in force.

These changes were made by the Rulling of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine of March 4, 2022 № 36 “On amendments to the Rulling of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine of February 24, 2022 № 18″, which came into force on March 4, 2022.
